Petition Introduction (exact language provided later by Bai)
Short Intro (about 100 words or less, to be provided later)
Petition (exact language provided later by Bai)
Petition Text (about 700 words, to be provided by Bai later)
FILL-IN-THE-BLANK-FORM
As much as possible, I would like the look of the petition form to match the look/style/color/fonts/size of the rest of our website.
1st Line: Full Name (Required) ______________ (45 characters)
2nd Line: Title, followed by Organization (Optional)____________ (text field 60 characters)
3nd Line: Can we show you as a signer on this webpage? (Required) (choose YES or NO)
4th Line: E-mail address (Required) ____________(required 45 character text field)
I will send you a verification message. We do not give share or publish your address.
5th Line: Diocese (Required). ___Dropdown _____
NOTE: Using 2-tier dropdown field, have visitor find/hover over state, then a second tier would open to show the option for dioceses in that state. See list LINKED. In other words, I don’t want our visitors to have to navigate a pull down menu 180 options. Instead, I’d like them to navigate 50 options of states and then a secondary dropdown, so they can select the diocese. If 2-tier is too complicated or expensive, I’ll skip it.
NOTE: I would also like to automatically collect the date that signer fills in the petition, though I don’t want to ask visitor to enter the date.
VERIFICATION 1st message: I would like some email message to be sent to the signers’ e-mail addresses requiring the signer to either hit reply, or to click some link that will verify that the person is real. The exact language of verification message to be provided later. Up till now, I only send outgoing e-mail messages two ways: 1) We are customers of Microsoft using Office 365 Outlook; and 2) We are customers of Godaddy using their “Email Marketing” for my email newsletter.
Published Signers Joining Petition
NOTE: For those who agree to have their names published as signers, I ‘d like to automatically, have the person’s name, and optional title/organization, and diocese appear on this post for the public to see. In other words, as days pass, the visible list of signers will grow.
EXAMPLE SIGNERS
Dr. John Doe – Professor of Theology, University of Saint Philip – Diocese of Houston
Fr. Jack Smith – Pastor, St. Rita – Diocese of Newark
Sue Brown – Director of Catholic Psyhologists – Diocese of Wilmingtion
Bill Smith – Diocese of Jackson
Jane Jones – Diocese of Boomintong
NOTES CONTINUE: There are some that I will want to show at the top which I am collecting already.
I would like the look of published list of signers to match the look/style/color/fonts/size of the rest of our website. I envision three groupings/filters for this list:
- FIRST) When I see on the back-end that some signer has credentials that give them importance for my target audience, I would like the option of moving them to the first grouping of signers. If it this way too complicated (expensive, I’ll give up this idea).
- SECOND) anyone who entered themselves as affiliated with an organization, appearing in the order of when they were verified;
- THIRD) The rest of the signers, who did not show any organization, appearing in the order of when they were verified.
INVITATION 2nd message: After the signers verify by responding to first email message, I would like to automatically send email message to each person from my email address ([email protected]). Exact language to be provided later. I have email marketing with Godaddy using this email address. I also have Microsoft Office 365 Outlook with this email address. This second message will invite petitioners to register for my email newsletter and give them a description of our resources available from Mary’s Advocates.
I will want to have access to download (csv) data, plus date time signed of all petition signers, even though no email address will be shared with others or published.
