Why has the Church become the Pimp for the State

A caller on Relevant Radio’s Drew Mariani Show asked a good question: “Why has the Church become the pimp for the state?” When Catholics go to the Church wanting to enter holy matrimony, Drew’s caller (Katie) noted how priests require them to first go to the state to arrange for a state marriage certificate.
In Katie’s words, getting a state marriage certificate is being shoved into the mouth of Satan, and I think she’s right.
Getting as state marriage license means that each agrees to be married as the state understands marriage. In my state of Ohio, for example, the Bar association makes it clear that there are three parties to the marriage contract: “1) you; 2) your spouse; and 3) the state of Ohio.”
Because of no-fault divorce, every bride and groom agree that at any time in the future, for any and, no reason, whatsoever (at the petition of the other spouse), the state no-fault divorce judge can take control over all the property and control children’s upbringing. Each bride and groom agree to have his/her children taken away, at any time, according to the subjective ramblings of a no-fault divorce judge. Furthermore, if the other spouse ends up committing adultery with another sex partner, every bride and groom agree to have their children court-ordered to spend overnight visits with the unfaithful spouse and the new sex partner. These arrangements must be understood as normal and acceptable for those who get a state marriage certificate.
Perhaps, in the 1950’s the Church requiring a state marriage license/certificate made some sense. The civil forum understood that justice demands adulterers, abandoners, and abusers, should repair the damage they caused to the other spouse and children. However, now, abandoners and adulterers are rewarded by the no-fault divorce courts.

DREW: We’ll start in San Diego. Hi, Katie.
KATIE: I’m wondering why has the church become the pimp for the state?
When you get married … . I’m so sorry. I have no delicate way to put it. And my feelings are raw, because I had no choice but to get a divorce. You have no choice when someone serves you divorce papers. That’s it, you’re done. So, your life and your say is nothing. And in California, it’s a very … . I am not a feminist. I was a stay-at-home mom, gave up my career to raise my children, sent them to private Catholic schools (not public). So, I’m not a feminist, but I find it’s a very chauvinistic, misogynistic state in California.
DREW: It’s a great point, I want to talk about it. Why did your husband file for divorce? Why did he want out?
KATIE: […] But he found somebody else finally on Tinder, I guess that he felt made him happy. And actually, I felt like my soul was gone when you put up with somebody that has unrepentant sin again and again.” […] “I was committed because I always think of how Moses said God hates divorce, but because of your hardened hearts. So, I did as much forgiving as I possibly could with the Lord.
But what I’m saying is, when people get married, and they’re Catholic Christians, they want to go to the Church for holy matrimony, but they’re forced; and the priest says, ‘Come back when you go to the state; when I shove you into the mouth of Satan, with a community and the mayor.’ You know, the world is not our friend, and you have to have a certificate [state marriage certificate].
