It is amazing that so many marriage nullity tribunals define marraige with a bunch of highfalutin words about love, being best friends, and communion of love. Hear Dr. Felix Menendez’ clear explanation:
“From the point of view of whether you are getting married, or not, whether you are in love, or not, is irrelevant. Your feelings are irrelevant. What matters is what was the object of your choosing.”
Dr. Menendez earned his Doctorate of Canon Law (J.C.D.) summa cum laude, from the San Damaso University of Madrid in 2014. He currently teaches in the Archdiocese of Atlanta and works as a judge on their marriage tribunal.
This excerpt is from his instructional series for priests, episode 3, titled “Grounds of Matrimonial Nullity (III)” (excerpt at 1hr.3m). Dr. Menendez, YouTube channel that has nearly 5 thousand subscribers.
