Help LeeAnne Abel help Us.

Separated faithful spouses can have our perspective considered by priests who want to shepherd marriage-affirming parishes.  Watch LeeAnne Abel, founder of  RightlyOrdered.org, discuss her current survey. Her goal is to give priests resources so they can have marriage affirming parishes, minimize divorce, and support separated faithful.

If you are a divorced or separated Catholic who remains faithful to your marriage, please complete the survey and return your answers to LeeAnne by October 15.

I think I first heard LeeAnne speak when she was on radio with Leila Miller “The Effects of Feminism on Divorce: A Half Century of Family Destruction Exposed and Explained.”

LeeAnne writes:

“It is rare that we hear the experiences of Standers, and so this set of questions attempts to give you many opportunities to remember many different aspects of your experiences. To do this, there are quite a few questions and requests for details about your experiences. This will be very valuable information for priests so they can understand how to best serve their parishioners in the area of marriage. Thank you in advance.

“Notes about participation:
“At the end of this questionnaire, you can tell me how you would like to be identified with your quote or story or if you would like to remain anonymous. While answering the questions, you can also indicate with “just for LeeA” any information you choose to only share with me so I understand and can make general statements which I would then express without any quotes.

“Purpose:
The purpose of having these answers is to provide priests with some feedback about what has happened to the separated faithful when they contacted their priests, such as what to avoid, what did not help, what did help, and how to have a marriage-affirming priesthood as well as parish atmosphere.”

Thank you Bai and Mrs Abel, hopefully this will help our priests who are generally more confused than we are.

I hope those who find the questionnaire to be too long, but still wish to participate, will answer a few questions, those that are on their minds and hearts. The point of the questionnaire having so many questions is to give different people who have had different experiences the opportunity to weigh in. If it doesn’t apply, simply leave it blank, or if you only have time to fill in part of it, any contribution is still helpful.
