“I Do” to “I’m Done” The Wife’s Exit Strategy

“I Do” to “I’m Done” The Wife’s Exit Strategy

I spoke with Jerry Jacobs about women’s exit strategy. He is the author of “’I Do’ to ‘I’m Done’ The Wife’s Exit Strategy; A Catholic Husband’s Guide to Halting Her Hidden Plan to Leave, Divorce, or Annul You.”  Jerry founded www.SaveMyCatholicMarriage.com where he shows “If your situation is already escalating, get immediate help now.”

In our discussion, Jerry emphasized that that God holds the man responsible for the environment of the home. He breaks down the husband’s role into three sub-missions:

  1. Protect: Safeguarding the family physically and protecting the wife from the husband’s own negative behaviors (anger, neglect).
  2. Defend: Fighting against spiritual attacks (Satan) on the marriage through prayer and the Holy Spirit.
  3. Serve: Prioritizing God first, the wife/marriage second, and the children third.

Jerry believes that most divorces and annulments can be stopped if a man rebuilds an authentic emotional connection. He encourages men to “detach from the outcome” (stop obsessing over legal dates) and “attach to God” to gain the strength to become a better version of themselves.

“Battle like a lion in the courtroom and love like a lamb outside the courtroom.”
