At the request of Dr. Stephen Baskerville, I’m spending 5 minutes and writing the President:
President Donald Trump
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500
I am deeply disheartened by the destruction of families and the undermining of the Constitution that occur daily in family courts and child support enforcement offices.
I urge President Trump to appoint Shah (host of This is Shah podcast) as the Director of the Office of Child Support Services. Additionally, I request the appointment of Dr. Stephen Baskerville as the Assistant Secretary to lead the Administration for Children and Families.
If a person is married to the other parent of their children and has done nothing grave to justify a separation, the State should not have the authority to take away that person’s children or property. Shah and Baskerville understand this principle and would be strong advocates for families.

Stephen Baskerville is an outspoken critique of no-fault divorce, and author of The War Against Fathers, Marriage, and the Family (2007), and The New Politics of Sex (2017). He says we need to make marriage a binding contract.

- The biggest thing we could do would be to make marriage a legally binding contract.
- No-fault justice is a contradiction in terms.
- We need consequences for the person breaking up the family.
- The courts have no right to come after you to seize you wages and property.
- Child abuse and Domestic violence should be adjudicated with the right to due process.
Let’s keep the wave moving by writing the White House asking that they drain the swamp under which the divorce courts hide.
The Trump administration told us they are going to end the weaponization of the judiciary against moral conservatives. Any faithful spouse, who wanted to keep his family intact, has experienced this weaponization. The court always favors the opinion of the abandoner. The mere fact that a defendant expects the other spouse to uphold his marriage promises makes the defendant deplorable. Catholics ,and many others of faith, promise to be married until death, through good times and bad. These brides and grooms are open to getting professional/pastoral help as needed for the duration of their lives.
Our Catholic-convert vice president, J.D. Vance spoke, recently told an audience of Catholics that the Trump administration wasn’t to hear from us. At the Feb. 28, 2025, National Catholic Prayer Breakfast in Washington D.C., besides saying that he was a ‘baby-Catholic,’ Vance said “We will always listen to people of faith and people of conscience in the United States of America. You have an open door to the Trump administration.” (Source National Catholic Register full text and video).
